Whilst looking at various websites that explore the use of ClassDojo, many sources consisted of parental feedback through forums. The ClassDojo website (2019) includes a ‘blog’ and ‘press’ page, allowing, parents, teachers, students, and various aspects of the media to contribute and share their views of the ClassDojo application.
As this website is created for ‘ClassDojo’ it is not surprising that the feedback celebrates the success of the application. The ‘press’ page includes articles from multiple newspapers that praises the use and growth of ClassDojo in classrooms worldwide, however the content available does not explore the effects of using the application in great depth. The Bookmark Team (2016) provides a list of ‘Must-have tech-tools for teachers’, ClassDojo is included in this list, however the only criticism of using educational technology is the vague final statement that “When they’re used in the right way, EdTech innovations improve educational outcomes.”, This statement avoids exploring the overarching effects that educational technologies can have within the classroom, it is a common view that the purpose of introducing educational technology is to improve educational outcomes, it makes sense to promote positive content, but perhaps the creators of the application should educate prospect users as to what is ‘the right way’ to use the application, explaining how it is appropriately to be used.
